The story of Slice of Provence begins years ago in a charming rural French garden. There little Cecile learned from her grandmother to appreciate the diversity of home grown spices and herbs, their generous fragrance and the astounding range of flavor profiles they offer when used in scrumptious recipes.
While living in Provence with her husband and two children, Cecile would turn the reminiscences of her childhood into a passion as she began experimenting with interesting food combinations, bringing the best of what native ingredients have to offer, in the form of family style pizza.
Pizza had become a Provencal culinary specialty in the 1920’s and today visitors worldwide are endlessly astonished by the region’s variety and creativity of pizza recipes. Cecile learned some of the best kept cooking secrets by venturing through small villages and visiting artisanal pizza makers, whose invaluable knowledge and insistence on quality is deeply engrained in local and family traditions.
With their ever growing skills, passion and knowledge, Cecile and her husband Steve have now brought to Boca Raton their own healthful and delicious “twist” on the most authentic recipes. They are proud to introduce their unique Provencal fare with the opening of their first artisanal French pizza bar, Slice of Provence.
To ensure their first store runs smoothly, they are thrilled to welcome Danielle Overton as the location’s general manager. Also born and raised in the French countryside, Danielle brings over 25 years experience in French Restaurant management.
The distinctive taste of Slice of Provence signature pizzas relies on using specialty items such as truffle dough and lavender honey. They also feature the finest French products and strictly use imported cheeses such as Cantal, one the oldest cheeses in France, known for its wonderfully complex taste and delectable aroma.
